A quick guide
Your collection stays yours.
Start with a set
Pick a set and tick Standard, Holo or Reverse Holo beside each card you own. A tick records one copy. Unticking removes that variant’s entire saved quantity.
Cards represented counts cards with at least one owned variant. Variant completion counts owned finishes. Having several copies of the same finish does not increase completion.
Which variants are offered?
Where available, the catalogue’s price-block keys identify Standard, Holo and Reverse Holo finishes. Edition-specific normal and holo entries are folded into those three categories.
If those keys are absent, all three finishes are offered and availability is labelled unverified. This catalogue uses the fallback for 20635 of 20635 cards. A checkbox is not proof that a finish was printed. No live prices are fetched.
Set totals count every card record supplied by the source, including secret rares beyond the printed count. A printed set count is a label, not a limit on the checklist. Missing source records cannot be invented.
Search and print
Search cards searches the entire English catalogue from any page. Its index downloads the first time you open search. Enter at least two letters or numbers; combine a name with a set, rarity or card number.
Use the set’s own filter to show missing or owned cards. Print checklist uses a clean A4 layout with your ticks and current filters. Choose A4 and turn off browser headers and footers in the print dialog.
Share a snapshot
Share progress creates a link containing this set’s owned variants and quantities. The recipient sees a read-only snapshot. Opening it never changes their saved collection.
Make this mine merges the shared cards into the recipient’s collection, keeping the larger quantity for overlapping entries. It never removes their existing cards. Later edits do not update an earlier link.
If the catalogue changes, the link uses its original layout. Records absent from the new catalogue are reported rather than silently mapped to other cards. Invalid links stay read-only.
Where your progress lives
Your progress is saved automatically in IndexedDB, a database inside this browser profile for tomdahne.com, named toms-set-tracker. It survives closing the tab or browser.
It is not saved to an account or uploaded to Tom. Another browser, device or private browsing session has separate storage. Clearing site data, deleting the browser profile or storage eviction can remove it.
The saved message confirms a completed database transaction. If storage is unavailable or full, the page reports the failure and does not claim your changes were saved.
Back up or move to another device
- Choose Backup, then Download my backup.
- Keep the JSON file with your other backups. It contains all owned sets, variants and quantities.
- On another device, open Backup and select that JSON file. Review it, then merge or replace.
Import checks every card ID, variant and quantity before saving. A rejected file leaves the collection unchanged. Unknown cards require a newer catalogue; they are never silently discarded. Replacing your collection requires a separate confirmation. Make a backup first.
Imports retain quantities from 1 to 9999. The tick interface records one copy; imported larger quantities appear beside the finish and are preserved in exports and share links.
Privacy and connections
No accounts, analytics, cookies, tracking scripts or third-party fonts. The browser requests static site files and nearby card images from the card image hosts (images.pokemontcg.io and images.scrydex.com). Those hosts necessarily receive normal web requests. Share progress is kept in the URL fragment, which browsers do not send in the HTTP request. Anyone you give that link to can read its contents.
Something not working?
Try the self-check page. It checks the real catalogue, search, link encoding and browser storage without changing your collection.
