A completely free, offline-first Windows background remover built for creators who value control, privacy, and predictable results.
TomsBGRemover started as a response to a common frustration: background removal tools that require uploading your images to the internet, hide quality behind subscriptions, and break workflows when servers are slow or unavailable.
Version 2.1 moves the project in a simpler direction. The complete app is free to download and use with no account, subscription, activation, time limit, or feature lock.
The current app is a native C++17 Windows rewrite using local ONNX models. U²-Net and Silueta are included, compatible IS-Net models can be added, DirectML provides GPU acceleration where supported, and CPU fallback keeps the app usable on other systems. Everything runs on your machine.
